The vintage 2008

Some days before the harvest the grapes were of an excellent quality and output was estimated at 40hl/ha. Harvest took place at the beginning of October and lasted five hours. The grapes were picked by hand and after a first selection on the vine, they were put into wooden boxes.
After de-stemming during which the grapes were separated from the branches – an element of green harvest – the fruit passed an automatic selection table which removes by means of blowers, of an air lane, the bad grapes before everything is reselected manually on a table.

Afterwards, the fruits were put into two vats of cement containing 40hl and equipped with an automatic system of thermoregulation. Then the must was poured into barrils of 500 litres for vinification and there fermentation and maturation took place.

Tasting notes

«Due to its moderate output, Château La Connivence is of a dark colour. In the nose it is very mature and we detect black fruit and aromas of flower, pollen, accentuated by fumy notes that are typical for the ledge of gravel for the soil of the growing area. In the mouth the vine takes a round form, is of moderate intensity, with subtle, coated tannins that are very elegant. It is marked by black fruit and liquorice. In the final, precision is remarkable and thus it becomes an extremely sensual Pomerol.”
