Johan Micoud began his career in football at his home club in Cannes. With the Girondins de Bordeaux he plays attacking midfield and in 1999 they win the French championship. In the following year Johan will be European champion with the French National Team.
After this success Johan goes abroad: he plays for the Italian club Parma and in 2002 he wins the Italian Championship. He will then be under contract at Werder Bremen in Germany during four years. In 2004 they win the German championship as well as the Trophy of the League. Three years later he returns to France and to the Girondins de Bordeaux where he achieves another success: the French Trophy of the League.
In 2008 he puts an end to his carreer as a football star in order to take a completely new road: he becomes a vintner. “Matthieu and I discover an entirely new area, that has a lot of resemblance with football: it is all about perfection and creativity.” He loves wine and he cares a lot about the success of this nice project. Thus he gets very involved: “I like being on the site, talk to Stéphane, our consulting winemaker, or with Alexandre, and follow the different steps, the harvest, in which I myself participated, the viniculture, the maturing process.”
