Alexandre de Malet Roquefort
Since the 16th century, the family Malet Roquefort lives in Saint Emilion. Alexandre crew up as the son of the Count de Malet Roquefort, who is the owner of Saint Emilions Premier Grand Cru Classé Château La Gaffelière. His family is thus dedicated to wine. In his young years he gets into wine and wine-growing. In 1995 he founds the wine merchant Maison Malet Roquefort close to Saint Emilion.
Alexandre represents the young generation of winegrowers. Thanks to his wine merchant he boosts the turnover by exporting the wines all over the world, he invests in cellars and becomes an active member of viticultural organisation such as La Pléiade. Due to his open-mindedness and following his entrepreneurial spirit he purchased a plot in Pomerol together with his friends Johan, Jean-Luc and Matthieu in order to make a prestigious Cuvée of confidence.
According to Alexandre, this friendship is special, everything started in a particular moment: “It was one of these moments in which time seems to stand still. You are having dinner with a good glass of red wine and there it is, one of these unforgettable moments of friendship, sociability and “connivence”, a complicity that does not require many words.”
“I was born in Saint Emilion and I crew up there. I always wanted to share my passion for wine with my friends. Château La Connivence stands for a nice friendship and a particular togetherness. It allows me to make my dream of a mythical appellation come true. I hope that this wine will be part of more such extraordinary moments.”
